Don't just change presenter, create new, better, more inclusive format.
Check out RV Doctor, Gary Bunzer (USA) to see a quality format ...
No 'outback' caricatures (Gil) or Chesires Cats (Bob & Marg) or 'lolly shop' visitors (Fred).
We need articulate, polished (not posh) presenters who will encourage more vanners on to our roads.
Why not invite suggestions ...

I'll have you know that I had my cataracts done late last year and whilst they were at it, severed the nerve that goes fom my retina to ars*h**e. Now I don't have a sh***y outlook on life.

I reckon the mag should have a few presenters going to give everyone a break. Even poor old Fred would be embarrassed at his constant presence on every second page.

Please don't every body climb on the bring back Roothy wagon either.

I agree, i don't like Fred's articles.
Get new presenters, nothing personal against poor Fred.

its not just fred they use the same people in the caravan reveiws all the time

I was just trawling thru another forum for caravanners.
The topic was about caravanners having to set up and travel with medical machines.
The courage and desire to travel of those needing from dialysis to emergency oxygen supplies as well as cpap machines was an inspiring read.
Why not include an article on this and other special cases - better than lolly shops!
Likewise, a post on vanners being ingenious (bloody clever) with minor or even wierd adaptations.
There is just so much more that could be done.
Tight budgets are no excuse for mediocrity!

To me it appears that the producers are approaching the businesses which appear in the DVD with a financial package to advertise in the production. It appears that there is a scale of fees payable for time for inclusion hence shorter sessions depending on fees charged. I think the last two DVD's have improved but I do miss previous presenters with caravan maintainance, 12 volt products and installation, camp cooking, First Aid guides and driving tips and instruction.
There are other programs without the participation of approving cheer squads which quite frankly can detract viewers who do subscribe because we are genuine in our support for tourism and the enjoyment this industry provides.

When I think back, I can remember a time when I enjoyed the DVD but for about the last three years, so many people have complained and whinged about the presenters, the content, the falsness, the amount of advertisments in the DVD and magazine inluding myself through the forum trying to be constructive I hope on how they could make the DVD more appealing again.

Finally, I stopped buying the magazine and the DVD, PROBLEM SOLVED.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Keep your $10 in your pocket and read the mag if you want to in a Doctors or Barbers shop in about three months time.

Yes, I miss it sometimes but plenty of other good mags out there.
