Post Caravan park ratings.
Hi all I started this thread for all to add, when I was in the tourism industry, I enforced to the staff that word of mouth is the best and worst advertising you can get.
with this in mind I would like all vanner’s and motor homers to add their bit of recommendation to this thread, all we are asking is for you to give the location of the place you stayed at and a recommendation rating,
here are the rating numbers and what they mean.

We’ll give it a recommendation score from 0 to 5.

0 = don’t even think about it
1 = really basic one nighter only, amenities very basic ( needs a lot of improvement)
2 = clean tidy, over charged for what you get,
3 = clean tidy, and reasonable fees
4 = good facilities, good customer relations, fair price
5 = excellent facilities, excellent customer service. value for money.

Post Island View Caravan Park
I'll go first, we have stayed at the Island View Caravan Park on Kinka Beach on the Capricorn Coast. I'ts a Top Tourit park and very good.
The ammenities are a bit old but very clean everything about this park is great. I rate it a 4 stars, shady sites, clean, staff are super friendly and a great position.

Post Great Idea
Now not trying to put a dampner on your idea, but will you rate the CPs from a couple's point of veiw, or as there are a

number of families on the forum will they also be taken into consideration as far as your rateing's are concerned.

For example:

6 = Couple

7 = Family

CHEERS......

No. its just how you find it. either your a couple or a family. doesn’t matter. just how you rate the place, not necessary a van park. it could be a free site you went to from camps Australia, or perhaps some were you stayed over night on the side of the road.

we all would appreciate if you told us how much you paid to stay as well.

Too restrictive as we prefer parks with clean loos, nice sites and are happy with no other facilities which we dont use anyway.

Dont agree with including free camps being rated against parks either.

In no 4 its Fair price.

Post C.P. Survey
Agree with SD and Graham
Fairly pointless exercise, I reckon. Graham has gone to a lot of trouble but as others have said..His preferences would differ from , say, mine.
There is already another excellent site which contains reports on C.P.'s good or bad...Badgers.
I reckon if anyone strikes a really crummy one they should post on there or mention it on this forum....perhaps the administrators could set up another topic.."Caravan/camping park reports" Cant see any problem legal-wise for folk to post a bad (or good) report if it's deserving.

Hey Hillbilly, I for one will be printing your list and taking it with us when we head out to the great yonder in 12 weeks.

Like you we don't want pools or playgrounds, just clean, tidy and friendly places to stay a day or 2.

We're heading from Karratha up to Darwin and over to Queensland - no plans except for Darwin in June for the V8 supercars and that's it. So we'll pretty much follow your list backwards!!

thanks Sue and Stu :)
