Totally agree OT,
The point is to get the correct product at a good price not a cheap copy.

This is what a battery for my canon camera costs in oz from Ted's $ 50-00

http://www.teds.com.au/catalogsearch/re ... 11+battery

This is what I have ordered.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI ... OU:AU:1123

The genuine canon battery when I bought it 6 years ago, was $ 80-00. I bought the Ted's offering at the same time and it has lasted 6 years. Called INCA

I don't' know if the cheapy will last but I still need a back up battery. You have to realise that Ted's are made in China as well.

I run long distance. My last pair of Asics Kayano running shoes cost me $289.00 from our local running shop. Online I had the same pair sent to me from England $150.00 Aud and postage free to Australia.

My other pair are Mizuno Wave inspires: $254.00 in Aus, $100.00 postage free from UK.

You got it in one Crazyhorse ;-)
I'll buy local once for their advice and to check the fit, but I sometimes wonder if I know more about shoes/feet/high mileage running than the staff at my local running shoe stockist.

Wiggle.co.uk is great. So is www.runningwarehouse.com although the postage is greater from the U.S.A. Still cheaper than buying here.
:D

...and much healthier as well. My daughter is a phys Ed teacher, plays Oztag, works out twice a day at the gym and walks the dogs with me each week night.

One pair of runners would be full on sweat and bacteria; she buys 4 pairs of the Mizuno Waves ($406 last lot) delivered and rotates them, allowing the other three the "breathe". MUCH healthier for her feet.

With her mortgage she couldn't afford to do this buying locally.

A few weeks ago I bought a dimond coated glass hole saw from China...just perfect for drilling holes in tiles to fit taps...$7.78 including delivery on ebay. I was at Bunnings this morning (as usual) and saw the EXACT saw...$66

Now THATS an importers mark-up.... :) and why I buy overseas

I am in no way knocking good business initiative but we as purchases have the right NOT to pay excessive retail charges. Just remember that retail costs are whatever the market will bear.
If you are interested in cooking a barbie, you may want a meat thermometer. So search the Aussie companies to see what’s around. This looks promising. B y Maverick USA - ET 81 $ 55.00
http://www.mistygully.com.au/catalog/pr ... cts_id=382

Then go and see what it is available for from the USA.
http://www.amazon.com/Maverick-RediChek ... B000IYB7M8 $ 17.14
that’s a $37.14 difference to your wallet.
It's an interesting observation when you consider that the if you as a business bought in 20 of these things you would easily cut out any transport as well.
And it’s not as if the Aussie company has a shop front to worry about either. Both of these items come from a non shop front business.
Mind you if a guarantee worries you, just buy in three for the same money.

If you don’t like the price from Amazon, look here. Its only $ 13.00
