I just wrap mine in T -towel!! I leave it in the side, narrow cupboard, closest to the door..I don't even have to step into the van to get it ;)
I then place the t-towel over my arm to serve the wine and later I use it to wipe the dribble as the night goes on :D

An old mate of mine has it worked out perfectly.
His wife does all the towing so that he never has to put the glass down. When the glass needs cleaning he pours in more wine and then can't bear to waste it.

Good method but he has developed a shtrange shpeech inpud, inpedi, he's hard to understand.

mate that sounds like a great idea, BUT SWMBO would like her turn, so that would mean I would have to drive and that could create a problem or two depending on how far we had travelled and how many times I had to refill my glass.

see what I mean????

thanks for thinking of us

Did you have that spot for your glass especially fitted in your "new abode"

mate you were on the ball thinkin that far ahead and about the important stuff like where to stash your glass within easy reach of the door.

I will give this serious consideration

Post No more brocken glasses or cups
Nearly 50,klms and the only breakage is when i hit the van cupboard door putting the wine glasses away.
Measure your fragile cupboard. Go to your Clark rubber store, and have a piece of foam about 75mm thick cut to size. sit it on your kitchen table / bench and place all your cups / glasses etc upside down on the piece of foam, when you are happy with the spacing, use a marking pen to draw a line around them. Now with a 2$ Hobby scalple from go low or similar, carve out the foam and place the finished product in the bottom of the cupboard and rest assured you will have a readily accesible supply of fragiles, no matter tracks you will travel.

We were given glasses in storage tubes. Very similar to round Aust Post mailing tubes and the glasses are held in a cardboard frame in the tube. A bubble wrap lining would do the same job. We just keep the tubes in a top cupboard to stop them rolling around and ensures we can put on some "airs" when we arrive at Happy Hour with our "good" glassware.
