Post Make Emptying The Toilet Cassette a Little More Pleasant
Hi there,

Emptying the toilet cassette is not a lot of fun, however I found a way to make it a little more pleasant.

When rinsing out our Thetford Cassette, I found that some of the contents got caught between the measuring cylinder in the cap & the draining tube.

I found cleaning the measure & cap the most unpleasant part of the job.

Solution, remove the measure from the cap, or buy a new cap without a measure.

I use "Nappy Soaker", so the measure is useless.

Hi there,

It's to measure the amount of toilet chemical.

Hello Mother,

The measuring cylinder is a part of the lid you remove to empty the cassette on my van.

Hi there,

Caps are available without the measure & the measure can be separated from the cap.

G'day TT
I have the same cap as you refer to but haven't yet had the opportunity to use the new van.
As we use Napisan too, I'll replace it following your suggestion. Are all Thetford caps the same size across the model range?

Hi Jessdogster,

To my knowledge the Thetford caps are all the same size & readilly available.

Why is emptying the cassette a man's job  In my 20 years of emptying these things I think I have once seen a woman doing it. After all they help fill it up  .

If you carry the cassette with the cap up you don't normally get much stuff up there with or without a built in measurer. I use blue or green chemicals, and occasionally napisan. They all seem to stop odour but I think the blue and green stuff does a better job of breaking things down. Also, you get a nicer colour coming out as opposed to the natural look with napisan.
