Okay - this seems like the right thread at present.
As we know, sodium percarbonate is the key to the 'Napisan' toilet 'loo juice' recipe.
I am a long term user of the 'juice'
So...today I went to the Reject shop and purchased;
1. A 2kg container of Supreme Oxy Action. When looking on the side for the sodium percarbonate content it stated Active Ingredient:Contains Sodium percarbonate 340g/kg equivalent to 4% w/w available oxygen I thought this to be 34% Sodium percarbonate; and
2. A 1kg container of Vanish Napisan Plus. On the side of the container it states Active Ingredient: Sodium percarbonate 25.7% w/w.
Both were the same price @ $6 each.

I'm now a little confused. Which is going to work better? I think the Supreme Oxy Action but not sure on the w/w :shock: What does w/w mean?

thoughts?

We have been using "Earth choice" brand Wool & delicates Eucalyptus Fresh
A green liquid costs about $2.50 litre bottle.
This stuff breaks up solids and destroys paper. Mostly odour free, however hot weather has an effect.
We use a teacup full added to a litre of water in the cassette and a half that into the flushing tank.
It's quick easy and effective, it claims to be grey water & septic safe.
it's available from Coles, IGA & Woollies. We have in the past used some heavy metal chemicals, damn expensive. and tried a couple of different Bio products. One was absolutely useless, was expensive and for all the good it did, we may as well have not used anything.
We have found the Wool & Delicates far better than any previously used product, other than the blue sticky stuff that was full of heavy metals.
Empting the toilet is more pleasant because it's just a dark coloured liquid, no paper or any nasties.

We refer to it as "gender specific division of labour" MH - she gets the "girly" jobs, whilst I land all the "blokey" stuff.

From day 1, she designated emptying the dunny as a "blokey" job and I don't mind, dump points seem to be a meeting place for blokes to discuss all sorts of secret mens' business.

I have used all the stated recipes for the loo but have now become a fan of Walex lavender scented loo chemicals .Emptying the loo is now quiet pleasant. No nasty smells .Even when it's hot the loo stays pleasant.Peter :razz:
