Cathy, what NP's are you planning on visiting? we're heading your way next year and ill take notes. Best Thing about your model is if you have trouble reversing just unhook and push it into place. We carry a ratchet jockey wheel for when we just cant get it right. cheers Rod

Season's Greetings Rod to you and yours. I was given a book called Wild Places Quiet Places published by Dept. Conservation and Land Management. Details the Woodlands, The Jarrah Forest, The Limestone Coast and The Karri Forests lots of info beaut illustrations. I would like to start with D'Entrecasteaux N/P (Karri Forest-Manjimup to Walpole) I was going to get one of those rachet jockey wheels but I was told it was only for use on concrete that it would'nt work on grass or other sites. How do you find it. Regards

Merry Christmas Cathy, Do you know where that book can be bought from? Does it list campsites? See you at Boyup Brook if not before. Looking forward to checking out your new van, it looks good in the photo. Cheers Steve & Vicky

The book has lots of info, it has area maps, facilities, tents and caravan sites , walk trails, where you can swim and fish. I always take it with me and also use A Guide to Priceless Campsites and Rest Areas in the South of Western Australia written by Jan Holland 3rd edition which was recommended to me by fellow travellers. Both books were purchased from the Chart & Map Shop 14 Collie St Fremantle. (Ranger Camping had them a while ago as well.) Have a Merry Christmas see you in Boyup Brook if not before

Hi Cathy, the ratched jockey wheel is great,it'll push a 23' van uphill on grass no issues. Bit expensive but lasts forever. Ill get a copy of that book when we hit the west coast next year. Theres so much to see there i sdont think we'd ever see it all. Cheers Rod

Mally
You will love the caravan I have a 12' Jayco eagle rear entry and just love it. Once you get over the rich yuppies refering to it as a dog kennel or a Poofta van ????? think about it!!!!! you realise how comfortable they are for two people and how easy to move and tow. They are a very practical van. Many times I have had people ask to look inside and to hear the wife comment "I told you we didn't need to go as big as we did". The most valuable accessories we had fitted were air cond.& roll out awning ,brilliant.

Cathy, IF youre planning tom buy a ratchet jockey wheel ,spend a LITTLE extra [$20 maybe] and buy the one with an INflatible tyre. these ones will jack anything anywhere. With Minimum slipage. Like i said our '23 jayco dual axel was constantly jacked uphill on grass [sometimes wet grass] without issues. With the jockey wheel you can EASILY move the van forwards on flat roads with the jacking lever as a steering wheel and someone pushing from behind. It'll "ratchet" down the road but this is entirely normal HTH.. Rod

The dual wheel models are even better for traction, but a little more difficult to manoeuvre.
