Check this out. Looks good for 50K. Made in China however.

Interesting...I'm sure there will be a market for something like that at that price. Looks fairly well decked out too.

I checked out the Great Walls last year when I was in the market for a dualcab. They seemed a bit basic and cheap looking so I didn't buy one, also they only come with 2.2 or 2.4L petrol engines, so you can't really tow much with them, but hey you get what you pay for, and I think as a small motorhome they would be ok.

Thanks for the link.

Cheers Bob.

Like the look of this. If it takes off it may make the other OZ makers take a long hard look at their pricing structure .

Will keep at eye out and take a good look when it comes out

I wonder if they've fixed the vehicle's appalling safety rating yet? The great wall dual-cab only received 1 star. No way I'd put my dearly beloved in one!!........or myself for that matter.

I sometimes worry about all these so called safety ratings handed out by our so call motoring bodies and start to wonder if it's just the industry becoming protective of it's position in the market . It could all be like the Heart Foundation Tick which it was revealed was up for sale forcing a rethink of their sales practice . Like the food industry one day it's bad for you next it's the panacea of health, all depends on who is paying the piper

Granted I think that the standard inclusion of front Airbags and ABS braking should not be regarded as an optional extra for Australian conditions . So long as the appropriate ASA compliance plates for the electrics and gas are there the remainder becomes more as to the reliability of the power and drive train components

Hi Bob.
Although they're only small motors It wouldn't matter in a motorhome as they would /should be geared to pull the extra body weight of a motorhome.
Gearing and diff ratios make the difference.
Our Coaster has a 2.4 litre motor and the whole rig ready to travel is around 3.5 tonne and cruises at 95 /100klmph comfortably..
Al.

I think the Motorhome was quoted as having a 2.4 diesel turbo but didn't mention shower or toilet .

As for a basic looking work ute I always regarded my Toyota as a work horse from job to job not a fashion statement or mums taxi and unless you remove the seats you can't get much more basic than a Tojo
