I drive the Mossman – Mt Molloy road at least twice a week. Have followed many rigs up & down. Only ever saw one in trouble a few years ago. Was a pretty old tug with a big van which blew a radiator hose. Take it easy & no problem. I believe this is the easiest route from the coast to the tablelands. A lot of people stop at the free camp at the military memorials near Tolga. Nice van park at Tinaroo. Free camp at Rifle Creek at Mt Molloy. The coast road from Cairns to Port Douglas is tight and windy but for the passenger, one of the prettiest drives you’ll see.
