Ouch!

Pays to shop around for these things, but perhaps prices have gone up.

These things cost per hour, the quicker you pick up the concepts, and the more adaptable you are to the silly little things the instructor will require you to do, the faster you get through the competencies and the cheaper it is.

The CITB provide around $1000 towards doing a HR or HC license in SA as well.

After the CITB funding my next ticket (Franna Crane) is going to cost me the pincely sum of $80

Sean
Not correct, set price for 2 day 10hr per day course and license testing

he passed today

Oh the shame of it, we have a truckie in the family

These rules are from South Australia. Are they identical in all states?

The defintions are standard almost world wide I think and the rules are applied using the weights stamped on your vehicle and shall not be exceeded…..
http://withoutahitch.com.au/caravan/und … -capacity/

It takes very little to put you and your van over 4.5tonnes combined weight, a landcruser comes in at 3300kg GVM add a Jayco van, mine is 2375Kg ATM = 5675Kg GCM…. ( meaning that you could not legally go over a bridge with a 5 tonne limit). And remember the inspectors only have to “suspect” you are overweight to stop and check you.

Another point to bear in mind to is that people sometimes forget that if they have a ute and put a canopy over the tub then the weight of the Canopy comes off your payload….
