At Binalong to day helping my son with some home improvements and he said the “Inspector” from Young called by on Friday to check his installation yet again. This was a different chap again and how come he was from Young Council when Binalong comes under the Auspices of Yass Valley….
This bloke said it was all “rubbish” there was no need for all the stuffing around and he said he had been asked to inspect becuase of a complaint from the delivery driver.
He asked who had moved the bottles and poured the slab and son said he had and the “Inspector” said he had done a good job and only wanted to make sure there were no leaks and had a sniffer in his pocket declated it all ship shape and bristol fashion got in his car and drove away….
Moral of the story: Get the proper story before chasing rainbows….

Clarification: the “inspector” was an employee of “Elgas” and not as I had suggested the council….

One other point I’d like to throw in here is that you would think for fixed LPG instalations that the cylinders would have to be earthed but no mention is made of that…
Maybe there is a very valid reason to not earth the cylinders but static can produce a spark….
What happens if lightening hits a gas bottle? Mythbusters perhaps….
