For those of us on UHF CB what channel can forumites call us on after weve been spotted?? i like CH40.. Myself... Cheers Rod Well now, this is where we might strike a problem as most CV's use ch20 - MH's use ch18. I also monitor ch40 when out of the cities - bucket mouthed truckies & young dickheads with no manners abuse ch40 there - but in the country it's fine. So generally will sit on ch18 & switch to ch40 when a truck approaches me from the rear - to assist with a passing manouvre for them. So, as you say Rod - which channel? May I suggest we just play it by ear & use the standard ch18/20/40 on an as needs basis? Chuck

Which Channel!
G'Day All.
I usually leave my set on "scan" when travelling, unless I'm in the cities where I leave it "off", too many foulmouthed fools, not even humorous anymore, just childish nonsense. Home channel is 40, so I'll call you on that 1st, then I'll try 18 & 20. I'll have the velcro yellow band on the front and rear of van so it can be seen in the parks etc, and I might put 1 on the bullbar (if I can be excused for calling the "sissy bar" on the front of our Ti a bullbar). All too easy, it's just about having fun!
Best regards, Dawn & Lance.

Yellow Velcro/Ribbon
mist wrote: Thanks Happycats, who else? Mist TassieVanner will be in that too. Yellow front and rear of van and maybe ribbon on UHF aerial too. No bullbar on Cruiser yet. We travel in a white 200 series Cruiser with 21ft Creative Tanami (red Tassie Devil on front window cover). Kath & Darren

Alternative ribbon!
mist wrote: Hi All, For those who would like to be identified by other forum members when out and about, it has been agreed by some of us to attach a wide, yellow velcro band or ribbon to the rear, driver side handle on our van. This will allow us to spot one another easily. If you don't have a handle, find another prominent place on your van to display the velcro. Everyone is invited to join in or not as they please. I'm told Spotlight is the best place to find the velcro. I know we'll be playing Spot the Yellow Velcro on our next trip. Hope to meet up with some of you over time. Regards, Mist Hi I found a yellow Duct tape at Bunnings for 2$ I rapped 3 turns on my bullbar and will do the same at the right hand handle on the Van. The visibility is good! Give me a honk if you see me this week from Thursady onwards! Some where between the Gold Coast and rainbow beach!

we will be wearing our yellow ribbons, front and back, maybe a glo in the dark one too:rolleyes:
the old oak tree.brings back many happy memories.
