Post RV Doors
I noticed on a lot of front door vans (including mine) the door opens to the right. This eats up annex space and stops us from putting chairs both side of the fold down table. And the revers would apply to rear door vans. So what if the door opens against the annex leg. It just doesn’t seem to make scents to me. This might be my next winter project replace the door with one that opens to the left. And the revers would apply to rear door vans.

I agree Diesel. But its bugging me. New door is around $1000.00. Will have to put it in next years budget.

Yep..I posted somewhere....I had trouble with the door opening while travelling......all so it doesnt hit the awning leg.....there isnt enough room for my 4ft long table...let alone chairs...along my 12ft van

Thats not such a silly idea.
All I need is some one with a rear door that wants to swap for the same reason. if the door is the same type and size the door inserts can be kept to match the paint.

If you reverse the door & it opens onto the awning arm/leg, just be carefull that the door can be held open.

I have an extra bracket(?) on my awning arm for when the awning is not open but when it is open & the arms/legs still attached to the van (not pegged to the ground), the wire loop on the door handle has nothing to grab onto & I attach it with a bit of wire.

I asked that the door open this way so I could open a window to the left of the door.

An issue I have with our Adria " ADORA" is that the door, which is also a stable door, opens back against the Fridge vents, so I have placed one of those long arm door latches to hold it away from the vent.

Cyclone,
you are so right. The manufacturers must have rocks in their heads. Our front opening, Avan Erin door not only opens to the centre so that it makes a table next the van difficult but it is also right over the inside table's window, so no ventilation for the dinette at all!
They are meant to be "the experts"
