No dogs in Big4 parks! Except if you're an owner or manager then your Labrador can wander at large and not be on a leash. Urks of a double standard to me. OJ

Re: Big 4 secret millionaire, Monday
G'day All.
We watched the show last night, looked at each other afterwards, threw our hands in the air, and said "don't recall seeing a single caravan or caravanner in the entire show".
Does this mean that Big4 just aren't interested in the caravanning tourist as they can make more money as a glorified Motel with Playground.
We don't travel with pets, but do prefer "Free" or Council Parks/Showgrounds, as it still seems to us that the lower the cost of parking, the more friendly the neighbours are!
Big4 are certainly not low cost, and whenever we have stayed, we find the neighbours less friendly. Maybe coincidence?
Best regards, Dawn & Lance. (Lance writing)

Re: Big 4 secret millionaire, Monday
The Boost Juice story was done at Mudoch Uni W.A. , that was the mobile van cos i saw it in the background but as for the other story in the shop i couldnt tell you. I agree with all of you about the show but must admit i watch it,I thought the format on the caravan park would be different. The show is about the staff more than anything else i have realised and thats a shame.........Sue

Re: Big 4 secret millionaire, Monday
I phoned the Big 4 Bellarine (that was featured on the show) to enquire the price of a powered site at the begining of Jan 2011. I am aware that this is tourist season but nearly fainted when I was told ..... $95 per nite!!!! I politely declined...LOL Gemini&Leo

Re: Big 4 secret millionaire, Monday
Hi to all. 1st post from us. Newbies I think you call us. We were reading with interest the comments on the Secret Millionaire Big 4 chat & came upon the entry from Gemini&Leo re: the cost of $95 per nite for a powered site from January 2011. Shocked was our reaction. We know you are not kidding as you received the quote over the phone. Are we the only ones surprised at this amount? We are very new to this lifestyle, currently on a 12 month wander thru this beautiful country & intended to do it for a couple of years yet, but if this is the trend for the future, we may have to change tack as we haven't factored accomodation prices like that into our budget. L5,
Read recent posts by BT , Redbeak, Frank and Brenda, Pelbo and you will see it is not all bad.
You can pay a bunch or little or something in the middle which is where most of us sit.
Take it easy.

Hi Gemini&Leo,Yes I do agree that Ned Kelly is in fact alive and well, certainally the investors are looking to recoupe their outlay in a very short time if you can wait and book from the 26Jan and then you are required to book a minimum of five (5) nights you can get the same site for $48.00 per night regards and safe travels GeoffC

Re: Big 4 secret millionaire, Monday
Hi all, We watched the show as well & were disillusioned too!! But having heard the price at Bellarine they are clearly NOT wanting any business over Xmas. There is no way we would pay that much & we rethink things if the price gets over $35 per night powered!!! We try to stay away from the very popular areas & do day trips to them. Works for us anyway.
Cheers, Diza
