friends how to make them

Post by shonky12 » Wed Mar 13, 2019 10:38 pm

hi everyone

for those of you that have mates into cars how did you get to know them and become good friends, because itd be nice to have friends into cars and stuff.

havent been able to go to the uncles place until june last year when buying the ba ghia when you could think about it and now its almost impossible to as theyve moved on with go karts and the cousins now have kids of their own, which brings the next question.

whats your reasons for starting to think about another daily car the moment it starts causing inconvenience as in starting to become a hassle or is at point you have already fixed stuff and wonder if itll make it on a 3 hour trip or no longer suits your lifestyle instead of continually repairing it and hanging on until the engine or transmission goes even though its financially cheaper 90% of the time to have unexpected repairs every few months than it is to have a car payment.

all the looking up have come to realisation that people move their daily drivers on when they start causing so much inconvenience or no longer suits your lifestyle instead of fixing the next thing and hanging on until the engine or transmission goes is because they probably have places to go things to do and once theyve been inconvenienced 3-4 times or need a bigger one to pull a bigger van or a different one for different lifestyle they decide to start thinking about another car as thats about point you can still probably get something from one you got to go toward the next one.

and most people usually move daily cars on while they can still get something from old one because they probably want to get anything they can and anything helps and as above have places to go and dont want to have to have fixed/or fix one thing after another when they couldve gone here/there. would that be about right.

now the story which might give yous a idea of why people these days dont drive main daily drivers till engine goes, had a ef fairmont dual fuel and was a fantastic car

in xmas 2015 it started running rough was ok on petrol, atleast it ran, and new year 2015/2016 it did same thing again and got some new spark plugs and put them in and ran good for a while,

later january 2016 it started using coolant and eventually found why and fixed that and it was good for a bit, then when doing a coolant change was done when fixing the problem it spewed coolant out the radiator bottle that they have, and there was gas coming out too before it happened.

in february 2016 replaced the water pump and radiator as they had a small leak and also put head gasket sealer in as suspected head gasket was on way out and for a month it was good then same coolant thing happened.

flushed it all out again and ran rough again and then bought a different sealer and put that in then it came good for quite a while.

so knew it was head gasket.

also in february the wheel bearings went so took it in and the workshop said it had a lot of problems and it might be time for another car so decided to have a think about what wanted to do and decided wasnt ready at that stage, so when getting the wheel bearings fixed asked what would they fix first if they had choice,

through the same year heater pipes were corroded and lots other little things and later 2016 it started running hot on hot days even with no ac on.

early 2017 replace the radiator with a bigger one as the other one was probably blocked up from the sealers or wasnt big enough and also the water pump as that leaked again. it never ran hot after that.

later 2017 the water pump leaked again so needed another one then fuel pump gave up a week later probably because it was ran on gas most time and the first fuel pump gave up, patched the hose up and was ok then it was giving up and then bought another one and used submersible fuel hose and was great for a while.

in june 2018 the head gasket went for good, and the engine gave up too and parted car out as want to go back to a ed and many of the parts will fit and might be able to make a decent old car, and bought the ba ghia as a daily and going to do up a ed and bring it to fairmont level and just drive on weekends and put it in shows.

would the above story be the reason why, only kept the ef going because like the e series ford.

if there was enough room to store cars and out way of everyone then would have parked them until was in a position to fix them to drive as show cars and bought a newer daily 2 years sooner.

Is that anything to do with using a smart phone? ;-)

Shonky

Men's sheds may assist.

You can find them by Googling your suburb and Men's Sheds.

(They are not for me but many men appear to like them as a good way of making friends if lonely).

The problem is not what people do not know, it is what they think they know that simply isn't true.

What are your reasons for not continuing driving main daily driven cars till they completely die and getting rid of them when they start causing downtime and needing one thing after another

Would the story about the ford that was in post be a reason why

And when speedo reaches 200,000-300,000km why do people change them in about that time and how do they know when to when speedo is in that range if the drivelines strong as
