Mick - The hardware change is as simple as the software change. In fact it is probably easier. All they need to do is to order 10.1 kHz bandwidth filters instead of 16.0 kHz filters to solder in during production. These narrower filters have been around for 15 - 20 years. They are already being used in UHF radios in the LMRS. You really should take more notice of techos than B salesmen.
