Post Re: want a SERIOUS outside light ??
Second post for the Month. Exceptional circumstances apply here.

Back aways when I was involved in drilling there was a bloke on site who was very well endowed. Public displays, or should that be pubic, made it common knowledge.
He was missing most of his front laughing gear but had an oversized denture that looked as though its former occupation was the grille of a ’48 Oldsmobile.
Anyway one night over a few beers someone in the camp asked him how come he had such a big wang to which he replied that it was to do with his barf as a child. Hard to say bath when you have front teeth that would put the grille of a ’48 Olds to shame.
How come we asked. He said his old Mum found it convenient to lift him out of his bath by his wang and as it grew from such exercise so it got used more and more as a convenient handle and one assumes a more interesting variety of uses.
He finished by saying wistfully that he missed his old Mum.
True story. !
Back into my box or kennel.
SD :)

Yes the outside lights are often pretty ordinary. I tried relacing the standard globe with LED’s but not much good so I got rid of the original standard light fitting and made up a metal plate that used the same four screw holes of the original Jayco fitting and mounted decent LED lights from Super Cheap about $50 each.

They are so good often only use one.

Jr,
theyre serious lights as well.

mine had an old car single pole bayonet park light [12V].
The exchange light with 6 leds was absolute crap.my parklight was brighter.

Anyway Jaycar had or still has meter lengths of the brightest leds available.you can add clip on extra meter lengths to your fancy.

But i stuck it under the original light cause the led strip is totally waterproof n inside a clear tube.

I never took a before pic but ill go through my old pics n see if ive got one.

But the new strip i just coupled into the original wiring so the switching is inside and the joints are all solderred n waterproof also.

From about 100M away it looks like one of those carnival caravans with loads of fluros.

Superbright, uses virtually nothing in power, garenteed for a lifetime for $49.. you cant lose.

Inside weve got 3 MAIN 240/12 square 28W fluros, they ROCK in a freecamp… others with candles, lanterns etc ,nothing comes close to our inside fluros.I HAVEN been freecamping since ive fitted my outside strip light
but im expecting a lot of questions…
cheers Rod.

I have some thing similar to the van mounted ones,
but this is good for as far away near a fire as you have lead.

I just got some of these connectors off Ebay so no more soldering required to change the length of a LED light strip.
