Mulled White Wine with Pear Brandy
Daughter made this recently from an Internet recipe. A nice drop on a cold night. Would be even better around the camp fire on a chilly evening in good company.
1 750 ml bottle dry or off-dry white wine (we used Riesling )
1 piece star anise
2 slices fresh ginger
2 whole cloves
3 green cardamom pods
2 to 3 tablespoons honey, or to taste
75mls cup pear brandy (none in the pantry, used St Agnes instead)
1 pear sliced.
Put all ingredients except the brandy in a saucepan, bring to simmer over a gentle heat. Stir a couple of times. Turn off let sit for 15-20minutes. Taste and add more honey if required. Add the brandy reheat until steaming serve with the pear. Yummy
