I think you will find it is the pink additive that is causing the problem.

Just use straight water or disolve a small amount of home brand nappysan and add to the water.

Our van doesn't have a separate flush tank as it draws the flush water from the van's main water tanks.

Good morning alang

I had the same problem last year, yes it is the pink chamical in the flushing tank causing the problem.

I have solved the problem, I only use fresh water in the flushing tank.

Then in the waste tank I use the product PTT from Enviropro, Phone 1800 707 076 , you can only by it from the manufacturer, they will post the 1 litre container to your address.

Their website is http://www.enviropro.com.au/index.php?p ... -treatment

You need less chemical, it can be also used in the flush tank a well. I have be just using 50mls in the waste tank. No odors all OK.

A friend of mine put me onto this product they have been living in their van for the past 18 months.

Hope this is of help

Napisan (Brand and price don't matter!!) is the best thing to use.
We put a couple of scoops in a jar with some water, give it a shake to dissolve ,pour 3/4 in storage tank, then add a couple of drops of euccy oil to remainder and add to flush tank. (If you dont have a seperate flush tank just put it all in the sullage tank) Flush a couple of times... you will be horrified at what is in the intial flush water!! it removes all the built up chemical in no time at all.
Best of all no chemical smell or any other smell for that matter.

It is said that the cheap homebrand versions work better the the genuine nappysan as they have a greater % of sodium percarbonate in them.
