Re: B3200 air con.
Does the fan run i.e. blowing any air? When you say compressor doesn't kick in I assume for cooling as heating is by element?

Hi Old Techo, Yes the fan is working ok on all 3 speeds, but the unit is not getting cool. We live 100ks north of Mackay Qld so if we have to take it in to Mackay do you know of a Dometic agent in the area. Thanks Phil

Re: B3200 air con.
Phil, the fan works so power is present. For the compressor motor to run it gets its power via the 'selector switch' when in the 'cooling' position and via the 'thermostat' (when set cold enough) and also in the circuit is a motor 'thermal overload protection device'. The only other needs are for the wiring to be intact and the motor OK. Switches and thermostats are probably the weak links.
With the power off can you hear the thermostat 'click' when rotating it back/forth between max and min?
Sorry, dunno any Dometic agents anywhere.

Re: B3200 air con.
Thanks Rainy for the contact no. If all else fails we will contact him. I know the area he is in.
Techo thanks for your replys. I have just tryed out the switch and it does click as you turn it. Clicks at about the first 1/4 of the turn. Also the van is in a covered area so it doesnt have direct sunlight coming on to the unit. Phil

Hi Brandy, There is another place you can try. Caravan Spares 2 Porter st Mackay, just off Shakespeare st. Les McGahan. He is the local caravan guru. He has been fixing caravans for years. Refrigeration and gas are his specialities. Brian.

Re: B3200 air con.
Hi All,
I have the same problem with the Dometic air con, The fan works but compressor will not start so no cooling.
Dometic put me in touch with thier agent and when I contacted him I was told that a fee would apply for him to travel to my house to check the unit even though it is only 6 months old and the fault was discovered the first time it was turned on.
I contaced dometic again and they confirmed that I an liable for the fee as they will not pay for travel. I could understand if the tech had to travel a great distance and I was travelling But I'm at home.
If I take the van to him and parts are required, I then have to take it home again until parts arrive and then take it back for repairs. I explained all this to dometic but they would not budge.
I agreed to pay and I am now waiting for the tech to check the unit
This made me question the worth of the warranty and dometic's commitment to customer service
