Post How do I go about.
How do I go about getting information on how to set-up a caravan/campers club?
Im in the Western Victoria region.

I have 2 with in my vicinity however they dont quite meet my requirements and was wondering if I could learn how to set up a caravan club,
- what does it cost?
- who do i need to speak with?
- legal ramifications i need to be weary of?

The kind of club im looking for or starting would be:
- focus on having kids
- allowing pets
- mostly free camping

4X4 clubs are out of the question for us due to the wifes back and leg problems.

Admirable thoughts mate, but I have my doubts as to its feasability.
Setting up a 'Club' is a lot more involved than just grabbing a few ppl and heading off for the weekend.
The main concern is of course Insurance.
Do you really need a 'Club' ?
Why not try putting an ad in the local media for like minded ppl to join you for an informal weekend at ?????? Caravan Park, and see what happens from there.
I did exactly that on another forum I'm involved with and we had a ball. We had 6 vans turn up with 15 individuals and we turned it into a fund raising weekend for the local CFA following the fires down here in Victoria in February.

Just anuva option for you to consider.

We did a similar thing to Lance. A group got together for a weekend, 10 vans I think. Had a ball and chatted about it becoming a regular thing. We just email back & forth to decide where & when to go.

Also maybe post up on a couple of different caravan forums for what they term "UWA's" (unofficial weekend away) stating what you have, kids etc and where you are going to go. You may be surprised how many responses you get, because I am sure there are lots of people in your bracket with the same issues that feel the same way.

Thanx guys will bear this in mind, when our van is ready. not sure how much notice ill be able to give though as we tend to wait and see what the weather is like by the weekend then mosy on off.

sidetrack: we are hoping to be able to do a test run with our dog @ the Dadswell Bridge CP in a couple of weeks.
Our dog is a labrador but untrained :( still likes to nimble on things so we will see how that goes.
