CARAVAN REGO RIP-OFF

If you’re confused by your own van rego costs compared by costs for the same van in a different state or territory – join the club!

In late 2014 we read that when an RVer registered his van in NSW he was shocked to be asked for $451. Imagine his astonishment when he learned that if he was registering in Victoria, he would have only paid $54! What makes things so much worse is that a large percentage of caravanners are grey nomads and pensioners. In other words, the ones who can least afford costs are the ones being hammered by select state governments.

Should a uniform system be introduced across all of Australia? If so, let’s hope everyone who’s currently paying less doesn’t end up paying a whole lot more. Seems to me that right now it’s just rafferty’s rules out there, and using that as excuse to short-change RVers isn’t alright with me.
