Why every vanner should choose a D-Flector Stone Guard

D-Flector Stone Guards will now be fitted with ADR compliant reflectors to ensure compliance with Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1 (VSB1).

Stone guards are fitted to the front of caravans and camper trailers to prevent stones damaging the front of the item being towed. They also reduce the likelihood of damage being caused by stones ricocheting into the rear of the tow vehicle.

In some cases, fitting of the stone guard is blocking the visibility of the reflectors fitted to the front of the caravan or camper trailer, required under Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1 (VSB1).

VSB1 requires the fitting of two front reflectors within 150mm from the outer edges of the vehicle (including the awning) and must be no higher than 900m from the ground. This can be increased to 1500mm if the structure makes it impractical to keep within 900mm.

“All of the stone guards manufactured by us and supplied through our Australia wide distributor network will now be fitted with ADR approved reflectors” said Scott Howell, Managing Director of JGC Components Pty Ltd. “We have always prided ourselves on producing a quality Australian made product and obviously these must be compliant with any local design standards”.

JGC Components Pty Ltd Located in Moorabbin Victoria manufacture a wide range of stone guards for caravans, camper trailers, boats and jet skis. These are fitted as original equipment by most major caravan manufacturers. A range of aftermarket stone guards are also available through a network of caravan dealers around Australia.
