We are heading To the Flinders Ranges In May this year. We are looking at staying at either Merna Mora Station or Rawnsley Park Station to use as our base camp. Any Information on either Station would be much appreciated.

Hi Darrel and Ellen, Lynne and I did the Flinders last year and loved it. Stayed at Carrieton for a few days on the way there as it was wet then stayed at Willow Springs Station which was our base . Arkaroo Rock, just before Rawnsley is a good camp. No facilities but there was a couple of vans that used it as a base if you are self contained. You’ll love it.

We have stayed at Rawnsley Park and really liked it, would definitely stay there again. Large sites, or if you go for the unpowered area even larger, good amenities, helpful staff, lovely views and some good walks around the property as well as of course in the Flinders Ranges National Park itself. Have never been to Merna Mora so can’t directly compare them, but I would say Rawnsley Park is more central to the attractions of the Flinders Ranges. I’m sure you will have a great time there wherever you stay.
