 travel on spirit of tasmania Can someone let me know if you can take full gas bottles attached to van on the Spirit.Also is parking easy at station pier.

Re: travel on spirit of tasmania Yes re attached gas bottles. Re parking – depends upon day or night, weekday or weekend, how early you are, whether the ferry is late or on time and other shipping activities. Can be quite bad at times, like my last trip 2 months ago.

Re: travel on spirit of tasmania Old Teck, virtually covered the issues that you could confront. Perhaps the most important of all is for a very smooth crossing each way. Night time is good if in a cabin, as we had very little swell either way in Jany and early April. Great place to visit. Make sure you abide by the customs law,and above all make sure you DO NOT SAY THAT YOU HAVE NO ITEMS TO DECLARE. Say TO THE BEST OF KNOWLEDGE WE ARE NOT CARRYING AND ITEMS THAT CONTRAVENE CUSTOMS. Re: travel on spirit of tasmania Also keep in mind when you may want to return on the Spirit, especially if you haven’t already pre-booked as when we were in Hobart a month ago a vanner decided they would catch the spirit back to Melbourne at the end of the week, but were told it would be at least 3 weeks before they could accommadate them with their van, but this may also depend whether you travel in peak time perhaps .

Re: travel on spirit of tasmania Rainy, you just tell them whether your tug alone or rig is over 2.1 metres. This determines whether they load you on a split or full height deck. It is not a restriction as such but a deck allocation tool.

the tug is an 80series landcruiser not jacked up just standard
