Hi Jandee,
Spot on. France can have them back.
Cheers CHONGA
We were in a freecamp called "The Herbert Parker Rest area" in 2007 (back before it was a 24hr camp and it was also a lot bigger than now)
I and another camper were watching a group of back packers (2 male, 2 female) in a wicked (TYPE) van packing up, all their gear was going in and the rubbish was being left on the ground.
With 2 of us watching, I thought that they would do the right thing but alas
As the last of them was climbing into the van, the other guy said
"In Australia, we take our rubbish with us and put it in the bin"
they all looked at each other, one muttered something and the one about to get in the car said (with a very strong French accent) I don’t speak English, to which they all laughed.
Knowing full well that they did speak English I said
"En Australie, nous prenons nos crasses avec nous et ont les met dans la poubelle"
(Obviously the same as above but in French, my native language)
The look on their faces (and the other campers) were priceless
They all got out (red faced) picked up their rubbish, put it in the van and left without another word
the crowd that by now had gathered had a great laugh
A lesson well taught I hope
