Air Fryer
Hi,
Has anyone purchased an Air Fryer? If so which one ? Looking at Philips one but am unsure what size to buy. There are three of us , XL seems too big and the standard size ? Does it have enough capacity for three ?
Thanks
Jill

Re: Air Fryer
Jill,
We bought a Kambrook 2L a few months ago.
There is only the two of us. I know some who really cook flash meals with their Air Fryers but we only use ours, to date anyway, for basic meals.
The 2L is ideal for two though I guess it depends what you are trying to cook.
They are convenient without a doubt.
Never used it in the van but I imagine they would be a handy bit of kit whilst on the road.
Take it easy.

Jill/Archer,
I know of folk who cook scones and such like in their air fryer. There does appear to be little one cannot do with them. It is hot air cooking, simple as that, so it is open to all manner uses.
Ours is called the Hairy Friar or Friar Tucker.
Take it easy.

Re: Air Fryer
Hi Jill, this from a while ago.
http://www.candm.com.au/forum/viewtopic … =air+fryer
I actually bought two of them and both failed within 3 months. I did get a full refund.
Then I bought the large Philips one. My friend had one for six months, used it a lot and works very well. Now his is a year old and mine is 6 months, both working well.
I reckon buy the big one, you can always do small things, but now and again you want to do larger meals. That is of course for the home. In a caravan small may be a better idea. The thing is we are home more than camping ,and we don’t take it in the van at all.

Re: Air Fryer
DT,
I do not think I would replace ours if it had a kark. It is not being used enough to justify its existence. I think if we were still vanning to any extent it would be a good fit there, the small one that is.
I am not much of a babbler, a couple of decent pots and a good fry pan serve most of my requirements. No one appears to leave much on their plates so my tucker must be edible enough. Maybe the baseball bat leaning against the table helps.
Take it easy.

Re: Air Fryer
Thanks all, I am leaning towards smaller one ( then you get smaller meals, good for diet). I want to use in the van and the large just seems too big in size . Dilemma ?

Re: Air Fryer
Yep in a van small is the way to go.
What happens is you start to select your cook up stuff as well.
For example spring rolls. These cardiac killers go on special for $2.40 for 4 in a pack. We buy a dozen packs, they are frozen already and just stick them in the freezer.
Same with potato wedges, $ 1.87 a pack; not a kilo but it is just chuck them into a fryer.
Frozen chips cost about as much as spuds in a greengrocer.
I am cooking fresh trout in butter on the weber and the wedges and salad are ready. A glass of wine and it is pretty good. We like the wedges with a bit of mayo and some secret herbs added.

Re: Air Fryer
Hi everyone,
I am contemplating the purchase of one of these as well.
Kogan currently have one
https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-10l- … air-fryer/
Which looks good and has good reviews.
Any further reports from those that have or have had them? (Air Fryers in general)
Cheers
