Induction Cooktop in the Caravan
We’ve just bought a portable induction Cooktop to use when in our caravan. Does anyone have experience of these, on the road?

Re: Induction Cooktop in the Caravan
We have been using one for approx. 12 months. I use it outside the van and find it very good as it doesn’t need shelter like the small gas burners. The only problem is I find it difficult to judge the heat levels at times. I carry it in the original box in the back of the ute. Of course the utensils must be nagnetic for it to work, won’t work with aluminium pots and like.

Yes, it is absolutely briliant. Way better than any conventional electric element. The only downside is, the cookware is heavy.

Re: Induction Cooktop in the Caravan
We’ve been using one for 6 months.
Use it on outside table.
Generally works great.
Very fast to boil etc.
You must have the right pots & pans. Some cheapie pots labelled ‘induction’ bought from Dept store don’t work so get good ones (Jamie Oliver etc).
Will not work if voltage at van park low. And has occasionally tripped out safety switch in van.
Has been a great investment. Madam loves it. Has replaced portable gas stove whenever power available.

We like ours too. Only use it in van parks for power reasons and use a non stick pan. Quick, easy to clean and we store it in the oven while travelling.

Re: Induction Cooktop in the Caravan
wow…. long time alright.
2000w max, inverter rated at 3000w
We tend to only run about 1/2 throttle…
lithium batteries help, no voltage sag..
Hope this isnt too late for you
