I was killing a bit of time last night and had a look at how many users were online.

I was surprised to see how many guests were active. It varies of course but between 90 and 100 guests present over a few minutes. That compared to only 7 members.

Checking again right now and we have 94 guests and 5 members online.

I wonder what all the guests are doing? Perhaps some could register and tell us?

The Bots are displaying as registered users.

I would imagine that all Bots would need to be registered to enable full access to all material.

I’ve tried logging out and then as a Guest one can’t view as much stuff. No pics for example. You get this error message… You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Another thing I just learned by viewing whilst logged off (as a Guest) is the ‘Soap Box’ cannot be seen. All of the other fora in the Soap Box group are visible.

I guess Admin can control what members vs non-members can and can’t see. Wise of them to hide the Soap Box from every passing Tom, Dick and Harriet

Guest online numbers varying between 85 and 100.

I drop in on a few forums and do not often comment. If I can make a contribution I do, but just too busy to get involved in lots of subjects.

O T I ofte wonder where all members are I suppose busy I know that I don’t always have the time or don’t know about the subject up for discussion

On CF at the moment…………..

In total there are 122 users online :: 18 registered, 0 hidden and 104 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)

It is/was common there for members to be outnumbered by guests 3-1.

The time frame used is a factor in the count.
CF is 5min, C&M is 10min.

From 2 other forums I look at but am not a member………
