As any one been to Ngukurr in T.N.along the Roper hwy i know some that could be going there thank you.

I have only bypassed it.
The area was pretty hot and I gave it a miss, but it sure looked good on the map. Strange it seems to have two independent roads both called Ngukurr Rd.

Probably done to fool the rubber neckers…..

We passed through there in 2013. Quite a nice little community, locals were very friendly. Nice for a look around, but probably not much to do there to warrant an overnight stay unless you have specific business in the town. We met one of the elders, named Kolbund (spelling??) and had a really good chat – very nice bloke and well respected in the community.

The only way in is from Roper Bar, across the river and along a section of good, dirt road. Remember though that past Roper Bar is all dry zone – no alcohol whatsoever. We left our grog supplies at the store and picked them up on the way back.
