I wish the one I owned had burnt to the ground that way I would have received a better payout from my insurance as the depreciated price when traded was unbelievable. From $50,000 to $19,000 in two years.
Its a Jeep thing. Just Empty Every Pocket.

This is what happens when the wife goes out to buy a car. A real man would have bought a Nissan or Toyota.

Interesting…
If you watch the clip Avan posted – you see at the end the price of the Jeep – $25K
Ok – you say.
So – lets put that in perspective
A new Holden commodore, 2 wheel drive sells for say $32K
A Great Wall thingie sells for $24K
A basic LC (Landcruiser) sells upwards of $75k
How or why is there such huge differences in price?
Take away dollar differences, etc.
Could it be that these products actually have a true value in their prices.
In other words, their inherit resale value, their true quality value ?
Or is that some manufacturers just want to dump some of their excess production.
BTW
Since the first model of the Landcruiser, Australia has brought 10% of the entire production run of all LC’s produced by Japan – you got love em- I do.

I rarely comment on here any more because of the one eyed alarmist. This anti Jeep mentality is a joke. The last trip I did, I couldn’t get over how many Jeeps there were pulling vans. I didn’t see one broken down at all or on fire or what ever you like and wish to imagine. And speak of imagine, I didn’t here any of their owners claiming absolutely outrageous fuel economy figures either. Now I know that it must be a total lie, but in yesterdays Melb Age, I read quote " At the other end of the scale, the freshly-released V8-petrol powered Nissan Patrol was named the worst offender, taking the title from serial loser, the Toyota LandCruiser GXL." This couldn’t be true could it?!!.
For gods sake, show some intelligence you serial knockers. They’re all nice when they’re new and all sh.t heaps when they’re old.
One last thing, I come from the auto industry and can testify to the above quote from the Melb Age. and have absolutely no allegiance to any brand of vehicle on the road.

The Jeep referred to in the advertisement is one of the small ones, the Patriot I think, a bit like comparing it with a Hyundai i35 maybe. The Cherokee and similar are a fair bit more expensive, although cheaper than a Landcruiser or similar.
Not sticking up for them because I had a particularly bad time with mine.

And really, who buys a petrol to tow a decent size/weight van.

Now then, that should start a whole new ball game
