I am not available but someone could be, so I think you should tell us which central highlands you are talking about. Vic, NSW and Qld have them and I think Tassie also, even though they may have a different name. glanyard

Re: Caretakers Position – Central Highlands QLD
Hi All, Glanyard, i think it was a good question to ask. As i am going to ask what are the closed towns to QLD Central Highlands as i am unsure where that exactly is. I do not know where that region may be. If someone is able to help with this, that would be great. Thanks Paul

In deference to the original poster, Baz N Vic, I have reported this thread to admin requesting they move the off-topic posts to a new thread with a relevant title. By the way B&V I see it is your first post so welcome here and my apols for spoiling your initial effort

Re: Caretakers Position – Central Highlands QLD
I was going to suggest that the CQ central highlands is a pretty big area, and the closest major town depends on exactly where the job is. Rocky or Mackay are the 2 biggest cities, with Emerald being the largest provincial town in the area.

The position is available from 1st April – 1st May 2015 At a later time I would be quite interested I think it would help if you outlined some basic duties and responsibilities. A ‘cattle property’ may put some off without knowing a little more about it. I have 4 steers now and for decades always had some cattle only to keep my 15 acres of grass down but I know very little about cattle. I count on them remaining healthy. All I do is look after fencing, water and rarely, supplementary food.

Hi All Thanks for your response. The position is close to the township of Emerald Central Queensland. The Caretaking duties include maintaining the lawns / gardens / pool. Checking water troughs (cattle) & fences. Attending to chickens and domestic animals. General everyday running duties.
