G’Day Everyone!
Hi All,
We thought we’d just take a minute to play on the new forum and say ‘hi’ to everyone. (Well, actually, I say ‘Hi’; Rob says ‘G’Day’. Whatever.)
We’re having a ball on our trip so far… we hope we meet up with lots of you on the way around!
Cheers
Marg & Rob

Hi Rob and Marg,
Again a big pat on the back, really enjoyed the current DVD and look forward to more of the same.
We also have a man SX Isuzu Dmax Dualcab 4×4 and would appreciate more direct comments on how yours go’s with a load near the top end of it’s towing capacity.
We have 19ft Windsor Dynasty poptop at the moment but may later on like a bigger van so any comments on how your Dmax goes on the course of your journey would be great.
Have a good one.
Alan and Sue.

Re: G’Day Everyone!
G’Day allan,
I’ve been very pleased with the performance of the DMax. There are some enhancements of course, the Steinbauer power module & the larger Taipan exhaust that have certainly helped with the performance. i’m towing around the 2900kg mark. Fuel, when towing, is about 5.5km per ltr or around the 18ltr per 100kms. Road conditions & wind also have a effect on consumption, so it can vary slightly. From point to point I can pretty well estimate that I’ll do the distance at about AVERAGE 80 kmh, and generally can sit comfortably on 90-95 kms on open highway. It can go faster, but I keep it down. Unless I’m really asking the vehicle to perform, I’ll rarely exceed 3000 revs, and can tour comfortably about 2200-2500.
Some of this stuff will be covered in future DVD segments & possibly a story, but if you want any further info, either PM me or post to the forum & I’ll try & answer as best I can.
Bottom line – the vehicle is a tough unit and should do your job very well.
Cheers
Rob

G’day Rob & Marg,
I too enjoyed the DVD and look forward to following your travels round Oz. I thought you came across as genuine, well spoken and interesting. Your addition to CandM is a welcome one.
Cheers,
Craig.

Re: G’Day Everyone!
Thanks for your good wishes, everyone!
We are looking forward to meeting a lot of you in person on the way around. We’ve made a start with Doug and Glenda, and we’re already finding that we’re meeting up with people again and again on the road – which is not surprising, of course, when a lot of us are ‘doing the lap’!
Cheers
