Before heading off on our 9 months trip last year, We also ripped out the L shape dinette and replaced it with 2 recliner/swivel chairs and fold away table.
Boxed in wheel arc and this added extra storage.
Our awning became buckled and we are replacing same in a couple of week.
Q. any ideas as to what I can use the undamaged canvas awning cover??
Already have 2 ……5 m x 2.5 M shade cloths that we attach to awning rill and off side of van.
Still waiting for some one to invent a diesel cool air con for summer, similar to the diesel heater.

My B-I-L uses his old awning as protection for the front of his van against shrapnel thrown up by the tug’s back wheels; he has to roll it up to expose the front windows and to get access to the front boot.

The best ever thing I fitted was an Ice Maker (happy Hour would not be the same without it).

that is a good idea.
I was also thinking of cutting the 5 metre awning in half and using it as a shade off the front and rear of the awning ( Side of the awning.

Jay,a smallish cover over the fridge vent area seems to have advantageous results in hot weather.

Two things. 1 A diesel heater.
2. A access door in the side of the van .Having a front Kitchen,it is hard to get into the waste of space under the sink in the corner.You had to lie down on the floor,have an arm 2 metres long and grope around to find what you are looking for.

While we were up in QLD last Winter we had a shade sail track fitted along the entire length of our caravan on the opposite side to our awning.

We bought a 90% shade wall to fit. Our refrigerator now copes better in hot weather & the shade is nice along the whole caravan. Didn’t cost much but wouldn’t be without it now.

I finally had to fit a fold out step as Trudy has a crook knee.
It is cheapie only 100 mm deep folded in, but when pulled out it around 180mm drop step. Only did it six months ago and seems high enough for uneven ground.
