G’Day all I am heading off gold prospecting 🙂
G’Day all,
Just joined here.
I recently bought two cub drifter camper trailers.
One is an 80’s model and the other a 90’s off-road model, both are in pretty good nick for their age, just in need of some TLC.
I am in the process of doing them both up and will be selling the 80’s model when it is ready and registered.
I am in the middle of renovating these back to their original condition If anyone has any info on the cub drifter models i.e. user manuals, service manuals, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
I normally just camp out in a swag up on a stretcher bed under a tarp beside my Troopy, but my warranty kicked in at 50 and I had to have full spinal fusion done. I am now in need of some creature comforts when I camp.
So I am now upgrading my sleeping arrangements and keeping the 90’s off-road model to once again head out into the gold fields and go gold prospecting a long time passion of mine.
This was taken when I was up on the Palmer River goldfields:
Nice to meet you all.
Cheers,
Grant

Welcome to the forum. A bit to primitive for me now but you have the ability to go anywhere.
What detectors do you use as I believe the good ones are up around $8000?

@Engel – have a Minelab SD2200DV2 currently running a Double D coil to cope with the mineralisation in some of the goldfields. It’s an oldie but a good one, it was used out on the WA Goldfields before I got it so it already had some pedigree at finding Gold. I also use a 14″ mono coil and have an old 24×12 elliptical mono UFO coil for finding the deep stuff. Also have an Aldi metal detector special for the beach / parks
@dieseltojo Cheers mate.

Welcome to the forum, Grant.
I also chase the yellow stuff, both here in Qld and in the west. The pics below show a typical days work near Cue, close to an ounce and a half.
I’m a Troopy man too.

Good to have you here Grant.
Finding a little bit of shinny gold stuff would help pay for the fuel to get out where you want to be.
It’s a great place to wander in…..this Australia

@Lance thanks for the welcome Yes it is amazing the sights you get to see when you travel this great land of ours. I love the history that you get to learn about when you research the goldfields and get to see it first hand when you visit the old diggings.
