CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Well done, and a huge thank you, to everybody for chipping in!

:) :)

Well done team! We've done it, the four wheel drivers of Australia have voiced their discontent at the smarmy office bound safety-crats and let the politicians know the truth - that legislating against sensible modifications was a load of total crap! Everybody will be quick to hop on the band wagon and claim credit for his, but the simple fact is politicians only listen to numbers and the numbers - you guys and gals - were there to be counted! It's a win to the real people of Australia, a win for the Australian way of life and a win for our children and the generations to come. But don't be fooled in to thinking this is the last we'll hear of over-regulation, stay on guard and be ready to roll out the numbers again!

Not today though, now it's time for a party! Might just have to go prepare myself with a counter lunch down at the rubbidy.... cheers everybody!

hip hip hooray

great news, now I wonder if we can stop the barriers, eg locked gates to good off road tracks

nice!!!....

We need to continue fighting for access to the tracks as well - I'm sick of some tree hugger telling me I can't drive up a certain road because some endangered snail might be offended!

Nice one mate! Now all we need to do is somehow stop the powers that be shutting tracks, zoning fishing spots ect ect! Seems we are over governed sometimes? Roothy 4 PM perhaps Have a frothy for me guys!!

Just new to the 4wdaction mob but i've been really dissapointed with the actions of government departments regarding vehicle upgrades and restrictions so, well done to everyone involved in getting some concessions. You can bet your last dollar that someone will come up with something else to make life harder and justify their position. Of most concern to me is the draconian restrictions placed on us as to where we can and can't go. If we don't have a fair dinkum go,we might as well get used to the idea that our kids will only ever need a bus ticket.

They now want to keep us out of the remote areas ( National Parks, Forrests) of Australia, to keep them for future generations, how the hell will future generations know they even exist if no-one is allowed to access these areas, I dont get it, whatever happened to common sense, we really have got to get rid of these activists, all they really care about is the publicity and sitting back on the Dole thinking up causes to protest about.... Thats my 2 cents worth and how I interpet their actions. Rosscoe

Hey Roothy 'ave ya got any idea why I got band from using the forum? I've tried to ask via email but that's just a blank mate. Bloody shame really 'cause I was just starting to like it around here before I got the door slamed in my face. Best regards and thanks for the site mate, love ya work [DVD's are gold ;)], SteveWA Perth ([email protected])

Mate, if they banned you, you're not here are you? In which case I'm not writing this to you. So now I'm so confused, it's all your fault, I'll have to go to the pub and suffer. or something. Seriously, we need to work hard now to keep the tracks open, correction, we need to work hard to get our country open again, it was once - it will be again. I think what they need to realise is you can love your country and live in it too, and that green extremism is like all extremism, ridiculously extreme!!!! cheers people - and I do mean cheers.... Speaking of green nice choice in 4bee Roothy. My 83 FJ45 and I have done the Kimberly, the Cape, the Gibb 6 times, Gunbarrel the list goes on. Just thought I'd give some insight into track closures in Tasmania in particular. It's not the Greenies in Tas who shut out us 4x4's and place gates at the start of most tracks here in Tas. You'll find in alot of cases that the land is privately owned (some foreign) by logging companies such as Norske Skog or is managed by Forest Tasmania who are well known for locking up the tracks. Its the Greenies who take to them with hacksaws to see what is actually going on and if you look at the truth, Tasmania is being decimated and the beautiful bush that we all love is being replaced with logging coupes very fast and who wants to look at nothing but trees all lined up in rows and perfect graded forestry tracks? Hunters are another reason gates are locked as some ruin it for everyone and slaughter our wildlife and leave bullet ridden corpses everywhere. Then there's the fox baits that are known to kill pet dogs as the drops are not sign posted properly so Forestry Tasmania just lock the gates to save a Law Suit. The Greenies actually encourage everyone to get out there and see the true Tasmania who will then hopefully help stop some of the logging particularly in some of the old growth which there is very little left. The fate of the poor old Tasmanian Devil is the first sign of an environment that is not being managed properly. The more 4x4's the more voice Tasmania has to help keep tracks open and not locked up by Forestry Tasmania. Cheers and Iron Side Up

Good work roothy

Thats Great

hey roothy...what,s going on in the office mate...the last few times i,ve purchased the 4x4 action magazine i,ve got stuck with yet another repeated dvd...although it,s good to have a backup dvd , it,s now getting frustrating...hehe...love the mag...love the dvd,s...keep up the good work...hope to see you in the bush some day...regards bruce....aka...screwloose54

yes we did it. But the fights not over. You all put a good part in this achivment but the crap bound government will not rest. NOw we all know that. But if we stand to gether as a 4wd community we can win this battle for our right. Our right to go were ever and when ever we want.

hey Roothy,,i live in bundaberg and its happening here aswell,as a boy i could go with mum and dad camping, but now that i have my 2 boys they have locked every single place that i use to go,cant take our little dog, last time we got fined $100 bucks,a friend got find for burning dead wood on the ground,it never ends, whats camping without a fire?and the prices for a permit,i struggle just gettin fuel,,lol not a cheap country anymore, hope we can get it sorted one day,we are losing our australian lifestyle from these desk job pricks. cheers mate.

Great news... for now. Yet again, the government are looking to fix a problem in all the wrong places. I am pretty sure cars also have killed many padestrians in the past... as well as buses, trucks even motorbikes. Why don't they (government) focus their time and resources into the twits behind the wheel of all types of vehicles, as they are the ones causing accidents... NOT BULL BARS! It doesn't matter what you drive or ride, it is potentially a killer, and everyone has to remember that. I am behind the idea of kicking the idiots off the road, that would have to have the best impact on improved safety! Either way, well done 4WD Action team in bringing this to light again, and standing against the typical govenrment "quick fixes"... That is my Rant & Rave for today

Just about every Police and emergency vehicle anywhere past city limits is fitted with some type of bar work for good reason. As Nigel states more deaths occur by other variables other than 4x4's. Most public hospitals kill thousands of patients every year through negligent and bad practice methods than what any well set up 4x4 ever will. Should we ban doctors then? Provided items such as rod holders and such don't create sharp edges forward of the vehicle then common sense should prevail here. Australia exports Bull Bars and if they are banned thousands of jobs would also vanish. You would think the Gov would take that into account also. I have seen the result after a hire 100 series Landcruiser hit a cow near Kununurra and the bar work clearly helped protect the occupants by creating a physical barrier other than the tin work that sits forward of the cab.

Use to see those bumper stickers goin around "I fish, I vote!" Maybe 4wd action should hand a bumper sticker to every 4wd action reader with the next issue to stick there to trucks saying "I 4WD I VOTE!. I am sure it will help in the awareness of the struggles we face as four wheel drivers... Cheers
