On this day 75years ago
I thought I would put this little item forward realizing that non of us on this forum would have been around to have seen the event but I can just hear SD looking at his tiered old hands and think of all those barked knuckles It is Tuesday 17th December the year is 1935, the place is Clover field Santa Monica, California The event was the first flight of the Douglas DC3 and she is still going strong with a total of 11,000 in various models being built If you do a bit of Googling re Oshkosh what a sight and sound it would have been to see and hear 25 a/c drone overhead To our Qld members that were able to get and post some photos of the final flight of the F-111 alias the pig thanks and if you wish to see a great night shot of the burn the latest Aero Australia magazine has a photo during the Ipswich carol by candle light the burn went for 1minute and 42seconds Will get Christmas over and then start getting my things together for 14days plus at Avalon 2011 then off to Tassie to catch up with our daughter at Natone a few days at Stanley and Cradel Mountain So to all you members of C & M forum along with C & M staff have a great Christmas and may 2011 be a little slower so that we can do more travelling Merry Christmas and a happy new year Geoff Chatfield

Seriously, I am sure that there were many major events and happenings in the year of 1935. I guess that if we google the year there would be some great history. Don't woooory be aaaappy Jay&Dee
