That's interesting Mick.
Is it legal to do this? If it is, opens up all sorts of possibilities for towing a decent sized boat.

Im pretty sure its not legal, but I saw a similar setup earlier this year at Bulahdelah on the NSW north coast, I think it was a troopy pulling a lage four wheel box trailer and a camper trailer, it was gone around the corner before I could take a picture of it.

There are B doubles on the road so why not?

Neville and Trish,
The B Double drivers have special licenses. After watching the antics of many van drivers in caravan parks, I dont think we are really qualified to drive such configurations. Perhaps the sighted van plus 2 trailers had a trained driver at the helm otherwise surely he would have been stopped by the local constabulary.

Happy travels

Neville and Trish,
You were right if you have a B double licence you can tow such a configuration.
The only reason i know i asked a vechicle inspector.

Ron  Keep on coasting along

Just tongue in cheek guys, yes I do know the requirerments having driven HC trucks for quite a while. But you are right dream4red it would certainly be an interesting watch as they tried to park them in a caravan park site.

The bloke told me he has asked the local copper about it . His questions were

Licence ? MC
Brakes ? All axles had brakes .
Lights ? All required lights were fitted and working .
Weight ? Yep its right .
Length ? 17m so no LONG VEHICLE sign needed .
It would be a interesting combination to back but no harder than a dollie behind a 40' trailer .
