Post Negative vibes on Police and Council Workers
Hi All,
I was travelling home in a 110K zone from the Myall Lakes last week when I came across an 80KPH speed limit and then a 60KPH speed limit road work ahead.
Around the next sweeping corner there was a police car with radar just waiting to pounce.
Anyway I was doing 60 so was OK then at the next 110 road sign I increased speed but never seen any sign of any road work so for all intensive purposes it looked like the police had their own road work signs up just for revenue raise.

About 5 or 6 K down the road we did come to a work team cutting the grass along the side of the road with their own flashing arrows but really did not look as if the signs 5 or 6 K back was related to the grass cutting.

I expect everyone has come across road work ahead signs and slowed down to find nothing or workers under a tree having morning tea and nothing happening on the actual road that would justify the signs.

Just my little whinge for the day.

JR,
I have found this to be the normal occurrence throughout Australia except SA.
On the roads there, that I have traveled, they seem to be fair dinkum.

I like the signs that get left out and no work being done on weekends etc. :)

Last year went across the Hay Plains came across 40km speed limit road work sign and then drove 150 km with no end. Took me 3 hrs to do 150 km. Yeh!!!! But in SA they like to do 6-7 different speed limits in a kilometre . Really bugs me.

What really pizzes me off in SA is,
You're on a major road travelling along at 60, 70, 80, 90, what ever and get to ROADWORK signs

25KPH

everybody slows down to 25

you come to an intersection and the flaming b@sta@rds are working 100 meters down the side road and it has nothing to do with the road you are travelling on GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Heading to Rolex recently there was some road works going and it was down to 40kph, I was fine with that because it was right where the cop hides.

Turns out they were laying a bitumen patch for the cop to park on.

I can only guess it was because of the fire risk from him parking his hot car on the grass or he needs more traction to chase down us bad guys ???
