Victor Harbour

Post by jenanddave » Sat Apr 21, 2012 9:50 am

Just letting anyone who is planning a trip to VictorHarbour to experience Horse drawn carriage across to Granite Island, the attraction is out of commission until June 2012. It is a beautiful spot and we really enjoyed the big duck boat ride! Just no carriage ride!

the horse drwn tram is great but the walk over is also good, we live only 1/2 an hour from Victor and walk over to the island many times, walking around it takes about an hour (at an easy stroll) and it has FANTASTIC views.

Lived there for 21 years. I think Port Elliot is the prettiest part of the area only 10 minutes from Victor. Nice walk around the cliff top next the surf life saving club at Horse shoe Bay, above it is the gardens with memorial to the Anzacs. Small jetty next to surf club for fishing. Big 4 caravan park right next to the beach. Nice grassy sites but can be windy. The town is very small but has a few old buildings that make quite a pretty site.
