A woman on facebook wants to know what important things she should see on this trip and any other advice anyone can give her.

What do you reckon?

That looks like Dysart, across to Clermont (dirt road) then up through Belyando Crossing to Charlies Trousers, then west to Mt Isa, 3 ways, and then north. CT, all things old time gold mining, Cloncurry, beef cattle, Mt Isa, mining again (fairly sure there is still an underground tourist mine operating) then everything that the Territory has to offer.

Near Kynuna around 1969.
Yes that is a boat on top, did not have to use it.
Better track these days.
Take it easy.

I remember the road from Longreach to Cloncurry being much like the pic above. My sister lived in Cloncurry, and us in Brisbane. It was pretty much an all day drive from Longreach to Cloncurry, lots of bulldust, and if it was wet, like above, the bypass tracks around the bogholes just got wider and wider, anything up to 12 lanes wide.
The other memorable thing was the party lines, dozens and dozens of them, disappearing off into the distance.

But of course, this has nothing to do with the OP.
