Hi Vern, We drove from Burketown to B & W R'house in 2013 and pretty sure it was all sealed. It was dirt from the Savannah Way Junct. near the camp at Beames Brook but they were working on it then so would imagine it would be finished by now -- hopefully. Should be someone been over it since then to give you a better update.

Vern, we will be in that area in a couple of weeks (from Melbourne).

During research I have learned that the road from Gregory to Burketown is indeed sealed. From Burketown to Normanton is unsealed for maybe 140+ kms and can be quite corrugated. We are dropping Burketown from our original schedule for several reasons and will go direct Gregory/Normanton.

I don't know where Leichardt falls are so can't comment.

Vern,
Bourke and Wills roadhouse is usually manned by poms on work visas.
Ask one of the local "bushies" when they come in for a burger or a fellow traveler staying the night.

Yeah Vern..... Roads from the Burke & Wills Roadhouse,as per your nominated route are now sealed all the way to Burketown and back to Leichardts Falls. (No. 263 Camps 8..red tick OT.!) Then unsealed but usually quite good except after rain. Been a while since We did the trip so would suggest that you may get better info at Burketown rather than the B & W Roadhouse.

Jock :)
