Launceston Holiday Park Legana

Post by Queensmanian » Sun May 15, 2011 3:35 pm

We plan to visit the Legana area in a fortnights time. Is this park OK? A listing says it has 49 sites, of which 29 are Tourist.
Has anyone stayed there?
Our alternative is to stay at Longford, which we know to be excellent, and drive to the event in Legana.
Thanks

Some good friends of ours went there recently and found management to be quite rude.
They had booked and confirmed and when they got there there was no record of the booking - they got the so sad too bad attitude, they then went to the park in Launceston. Can't comment as to park quality. Your are right, Longford is excellent and we are going there in June but alternatives may be Kelso or Greens Beach CPs both North of Legana or freecamp at Batman Bridge.

Hi Queensmanian
Just a couple more alternatives you might like to throw around
They are Hadspen or even Low Head have stayed at both although it was 2005
I beleive Old Techo was at Hadspen in March this year
regards
and
safe and happy travels

We have found this park to be excellent and have stayed about 12 times. It is just 12 minutes into Launceston. Refer Badgers site for review

We stayed at this park last weekend and I can now report from personal knowledge.
We had a lovely sunny site, others were in varying degrees of shade - would be a lovely park in summer.
Although not used by us, the amenities appeared clean and well maintained.
Some minor tree maintenance wouldn't go astray - I don't like trees of any descipt running along the side or roof of my van no matter where.
We had pre-booked and management were very good in accomodating our group.
cheers

We have stayed at Legana twice and found it to be exellent; however things can change when owners/management change, including Longford. We have also stayed at Longford and found it to be good. Three years ago you were able to purchase meat at the abattoirs on the edge of town at a good price.
