Mildura Accomodation

Post by Davine » Sat Nov 03, 2012 9:39 am

Can anyone recommend a tourist park in Mildura. I have had a bit of a look and there are quite a few so why reinvent the wheel and do the research if someone else has already done it. We will only be staying one night in the middle of January 2013. We are towing a Jayco Swan Outback. This will be the second night on our 12 month Aussie Adventure. We will be heading west but the first couple of weeks is visiting family we won't see for a while. This will probably the first of many many questions I will be asking!!
Thanks Davine

Hi,

We stayed here a couple of times and found it to be not as noisy as the ones up on the main roads.

It was a good park we thought, managers were friendly and the amenities were clean. What more do you want???

I haven't stayed at any (we free camped at Bottle Bend), but the one just across the river at Buronga is highly recommended by those i know who have stayed there. Check it on Badger's too http://home.vicnet.net.au/~badger04/par ... #brtpburon

We've stayed at Bottle Bend for a few one night stays as there are no facilities, but great spot on the river.
Have stayed in quite a few parks in Mildura over the years and found that both the 'The Palms' in Mildura and the Buronga Riverside Caravan Parks over the river in NSW are pretty good value.
But if staying at Buronga, don't set up under a tree.

We have stayed at this one three times over the years and found it to be excellent.

You can't beat the Buronga Riverside Tourist Park just across the river in NSW. We have stayed there 3 times and it is excellent. Every possible amenity you could wish for (and then some) is provided without the high price tag. Powered sites are around $27 with a discount if you have a Seniors Card or are a member of CMCA or Winnebago Club. Very quiet park as well.
The bonus it is riverfront. You can sit and watch the Paddlesteamers go by!
Unless you like the sun beating down on you (and it would be hot in January!) try to avoid sites 115-122. Shadiest sites are #35-49. If you want absolute Riverfront you will have to book. Might be an idea to book anyway as the park can get very busy (although it is still quiet). Their website has a site map.
