Re: This is Urgent
Yes, the misleading heading slipped by me until this afternoon , although i had already posted the prices within the thread to avoid confusion. Sorry for the oversight - all good now.

Re: This is Urgent
How can we help try and save the campground at Lake Batyo Catyo? This Council owned facility is under threat of closure. To promote this serviced campground, free powered sites will be offered until the end of September 2012. Those attending can keep a record of what they spend in the nearby town of Donald and point out to Council and the businesses in town how much would be trade lost should the campground be closed. This campground has favourable off peak fees from 1 May to 15 November of $10 a night per powered site which can includes families with up to six children and a full week is discounted to $50. In peak season 16 November to 30 April fee is $10 per person, with children under eight free. Unpowered sites are off peak rates year round and small quiet generators are permitted between 9 am and 6:30 pm. For those of us who are unable to take up this free camping offer, letters of support, including pointing out how much money campers can bring into a community, can be written to the Northern Grampians Shire Council at [email protected] and addressed to the CEO, Mrs Justine Linley.

Re: This is Urgent
Seems they don't know what they're doing. First they spend money cleaning the place up to attract tourists, then they say they're closing it. Typical council bureaucrats. http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j ... gjdrVTtJxA

Are we being had here by the manager of this caravan park? No council in it's right mind is going to spend money on something, then kill it! glanyard

Re: This is Urgent
I have received a reply email from the Northern Grampians Shire Council. It basically states; 1."The recreation reserve at Lake Batyo Catyo operates under a council appointed Committee of Management".
2. "Council and the committee have been working together for some time with "GWMWater" (what ever that is) on a long term management plan for Lake Batyo Catyo. The plan is in draft form and not yet ready for public release. The draft plan covers a range of issues and recognises the recreational value of the lake. Significantly however, the plan acknowledges that there is currently no long term guarantee of water supply for the lake which will impact on recreational use."
3. While a variety of options are being considered, there has been no decision made yet in relation to the management plan for Lake Batyo Catyo."
It letter, sent by email was signed by Jim Nolan, Acting Director Marketing and Community Developement. (what ever that is)
Sit back and standby! glanyard

Re: This is Urgent
Thank you for that Glanyard. I hope i don't have to wait to long for the answers to my questions.
Meanwhile the camping there is lovely at present according to a report from a caravanner staying there, so anyone who can take up this free offer do so, and see if it is a good as it sounds.
