Similar, I've put cable ties through most of my A plugs and they do the job just fine. :D

Most specialised 12V shops should have them. Battery World, or Jaycar, such places like that should have them. I bought mine from a local battery and solar supplier in town. Should not be too difficult to track down. You can buy them online as well.

I had an old nylon type cutting board that needed replacing, bought a set of 3, cut one up into T pieces and used that to make handles for the anderson plugs

with all these suggestions for wireing vans from batterys ,nobody ever mentions that they should be using for max. amps proper D C wire, that I always use . Mick

G'day Mick,

This topic was mainly about Anderson versus 12 pin plugs, but also a second or discrete circuit.

I did say in my first post.... To provide a good reliable high-current-capable source of power from the tug to the caravan it is best done with 2 substantial wires direct from the tug battery to the high current load in the caravan and joined via an appropriately rated Anderson connector.
