Post Re: Broken Hills - sculptures
I dont remember having to pay an entry fee, I thought it was just a $10 deposit on the key to the gate which was refunded when returned. I thought the sculptures were worth seeing also. All in all I enjoyed Broken Hill last year and were back there just a week ago to see some of the things we missed the first time.

We definitely picked up the key from the information centre and there was a $10 deposit which was refunded when the key was returned, but that was about 2 years ago, things must have changed.

I thought they were pretty good. Not all of them looked the best but when visiting on sunset and taking in the surrounding outback, it all looked pretty good to me.

The one that cracked us up was the dedication to Fred Hollows with the sculptor unable to give a name to the sculpture but said that "Fred would know"!

We visited the Sculptures in April 2011 and it was free. The carvings at sundown were worth seeing as was doing an underground mine tour at the Daydream Mine.Mad Max memorabilia was another highlight at Silverton. Malibu

I have just come back from there. I guess it's just the way you look at it. I loved it from a photography point of view but others in the group weren't that impressed.

Or maybe you just needed to take a closer look at nature or from different angles
