Post Camping at Quobba
Hi folks
We are planning a trip to the Midwest in June this year and will be spending some time in Kalbarri, shark bay and were thinking about a few days at Quobba. Looking at Wikicamps I find so many contradictory comments about the place that I’m not sure if it will be worth it. Just wanted to know if anyone has been up there recently and what they thought about it.
Thanks
Peter

Do you mean Point Quobba near the blowholes which is a council operated camp site, or Quobba Station which is a bit further north and privately owned?

We haven’t been to Quobba station so can’t really comment on it.

We did stop by Point Quobba in October last year with the idea of staying a night or two. We stopped and looked at the very impressive blowholes which were really blowing that day and which are well worth seeing. We then drove around to the camping area, drove through it and drove back out. It was full of permanent shanty type shacks, covered in rubbish with empty beer cans blowing down the road and we found it very unappealing and didn’t get a good vibe at all. We ended up heading on to Carnarvon instead. It would be a beautiful spot if it was clean.

Quobba Blowholes – 72 kilometres north of Carnarvon at a sheltered bay with a lovely swimming beach. $11 per night per vehicle payable by honesty box. Phone Shire Rangers 0408 942945 to check if sites are available. No amenities or water. Near Blowholes. Must have own toilet.

Shame that it is not being looked after :( . It is years since we went for a look and a swim, but we did not stay as we prefer to get out on our own. A lovely location to visit and to go fishing.

Hi there,

We went into the Quabba Blow Holes Camp last year & kept going.

It’s a DUMP & I wouldn’t stay there even if it was FREE.

We stayed on the bitumen road between the Blow Holes & the Camp Area.

We put a Detour Sign (left behind by Council) at the Car Park end of the road & being the weekend, no Ranger so it was "Party Time".

Tar Trekka.

We met fellow travelers at Derby who recommended that we stay at Quobba camping ground. Was not impressed with the place ended up staying at Quobba Station. Clean basic amenities and could stay behind dunes with a short walk to the beach. We stayed two nights and I can’t remember what we paid. Would have stayed longer but ran out of gas and had to go back to Carnarvon and decided not to return but to continue on.
