I think you will find that Woolwash Lagoon has been closed for camping for about 3 years.
Last time we camped there we collected 3 bags of drink cans (mainly beercans) and other rubbish before we could set up camp. No doubt these were left there by locals but of course the campers would be blamed. Maybe its been re-opened, might be worth checking the CAW website.
There were no facilities at Woolwash just an area along the roadside next to a dry creek bed.
I do not know of any other designated freecamp close to or around Rocky.

Jeffie, the woolwash has been reopened just recently, still in poor condition with no facilities at all. As i said in my previous post there is a freecamp at Bouldercombe beside the pub which is 20 minutes to Rockhampton on the Burnett Highway.

Thanks Dean.
That is not in my book CAW 6 (will pencil it in ) – might be time to upgrade??
Will keep that one in mind next time going through Rocky.
Woolwash is really only an overnighter – a bit primitive but was the only one I knew of close to Rocky.
Bouldercombe sounds like a better alternative. Next to the Pub is a plus.
