somebody posted somewhere a solution to removing the gas

buy a new unused gas bottle from bunnings

my new chofer is made fro a stainless steel bucket, much lighter and cools down faster to put away at night

Looks good Frank. What size bucket is it? And looks like you’ve pop riveted the door hing?? I s that right.

I made this one last year and it works well but takes up too much space & goes through the wood too fast.

Yes Paul, the door is pop riveted so you’ll have to make sure it doesn’t get red hot, and also the “door” when cut flattens out so I have a small piece of sheet metal pop riveted inside to keep it “bent”.
It is a 10lt bucket, it was our hot water “heater” on the old choofer but it had an accident in the top end of WA, ( I had’nt tied it down properly and it got sucked off (down boys :lol: ) the front of the van when a road train went passed (ooh that reminds me of an old X rated joke, Carm on train :o ) it came out OK but for a dent in the bottom which later developed a small leak, we bought a new bucket and this one became the choofer
